Carson's 1st Day of Preschool

Carson started preschool this year. It has been a rough time for him. He has had a lot of trouble adjusting which I had anticipated due to his mommy attachment. He goes on Tues/Thurs from 8:45-2:30. He cried so much at first that on the second day of school he had to go talk to the director. Colton thought that was so funny and kept saying "He had to go to the principal on the 2nd day of school?" as he laughed hysterically. Leave it to a brother to be so supportive. He still cries every morning and says"I don't want to go to school. I want to stay home with you mommy!" It is so sad. Hopefully it will start to get better for him. Granny and Pa bought a book called "The Kissing Hand" that has really helped out. I would highly recommend it for a child trying to deal with separation anxiety. It is the story of a little raccoon going to school for the first time and he does not want to leave the mama raccoon. The mama kisses his hands and tells him to keep her kisses and to use them when he is missing her. When I kiss the inside of Carson's hands before school he closes his hands and is so afraid of losing the kisses he doesn't want to pick up anything or use his hands. It is so sweet how innocent and precious little kids are at this age.

Caleb has those same shoes! Poor little Carson. :-( And that story about the kissing hand sounds kinda sad! They read that on Caleb's second day of school. All the kids came out wanting the parents to kiss their hands.

Carson will be just fine in time. He was simply thinking he would always stay at home, eat popcorn, watch movies and drink chocolate milk! Not bad duty, if you can get it! Sorry 'bout that Carson!

Aww.. how cute is Carson. Poor little guy is the middle child so he misses your tenderness. He had to grow up so fast. He will come home smiling soon and he will be OK. What a cute book!He is so lucky to have all of you as his family. Love ya.

Just look at that little guy & that precious little face of his! He is adorable with that lunch box & back pack! WOW! Pre-school days for him already! Doesn't seem possible. Seems like no time since he was a tiny baby! I'm sure he'll adjust in time & will love pre-school. It's good he's having some time away from mommy prior to starting kindergarten. Making this transition should be much easier for him.

I think it was just as hard on Mommy and Granny as it was Carson. He looked so sad, it broke my heart. It is good though for him to have some time away and it lets you, Traci, have some time to get things done with only Ashlyn at home. He will be fine in a year or so. Ha-Ha
