It is absolutely impossible to get a good picture of three kids! One of the three always decides not to cooperate! Here are some pictures anyway though

Turkey Day 2010

We were able to go to Tennessee this year for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful seeing all my family up there, but the road trip was not so wonderful. Imagine a 12 hour car ride with a five year old asking "are we there yet" every five minutes, a whiny two year old constantly pointing at the DVD player and saying "Buzz, Buzz!" and a 2 month old that likes to eat and be held. It did not make for a pleasant trip. Needless to say we split the ride up over two days so it was only about 6 hours in the car per day. It was worth the trip though. Colton had so much fun seeing all his "Tennessee friends" and he spent most of his time outside playing. Luckily, the weather for the most part was mild(in the 60's)but very windy. The food on Thanksgiving was phenomenal(thanks to mom and Aunt Jan!) Thanks also to Bobby and Wendy for letting us all invade your house for turkey day! I will add some pictures in the next few days-for some reason blogger with not upload my Thanksgiving pictures now:(

Colton's First Field Trip

Colton had his first field trip as a kindergartner. It was to the pumpkin patch and luckily I was able to go along as a chaperon. Here are some pictures from our trip:

She's Growing!

Ashlyn is growing so fast! It seems like it is going by so much faster this time. I guess it is because we are always so busy. She is such a sweet baby and smiling all the time now. I just want to slow down time and enjoy every second with her!

Halloween 2010

We had another great Halloween! The boys trick or treated together until Carson got bored with it, and then Colton went trick or treating with a friend from school. Carson was very cute while trick or treating. At first he didn't get the concept and kept trying to go into people's houses. Then he caught on and would say "Treat"(instead of trick or treat) and "Tank you. Ween!"(which translates to Thank you. Happy Halloween!) Daddy decided to spend Halloween at the ballpark watching the Rangers play in their very first World Series. Unfortunately they lost. Princess Ashlyn stayed at home sleeping peacefully in her Tigger costume never realizing she was missing out on all the treats! More pics to come soon!

Fright Fest

We decided to take the boys to Fright Fest at Six Flags this year. It was a lot of fun, but very crowded! We had planned on staying for about 5 hours so I could get home to Ashlyn, but ended up staying for 7 hours because the lines were so long! The boys rode a lot of rides though and we all really enjoyed spending the day together.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Carson Loves Ashlyn

Carson is quite smitten with his little sister. Every time he sees her he says "Hold bebe?". While he holds her he kisses her at least 30 times. There has not been any jealousy so far. I was worried about the breastfeeding because I thought it would trigger some memories and make him want to nurse again, but he has only asked once and seems to realize that mom's milk is for the baby.

The Princess Has Arrived

Ashlyn Elizabeth Gossett has finally arrived! She was born Thursday, September 16 at 3:49 pm. She was 7 lbs 13oz and 21 1/4 inches long. I was actually supposed to be induced on the 16th, but I started having contractions late Wed night so I just didn't show up for my induction. Instead, at 0600 on Thursday morning Mike and I started walking. We walked at Wal Mart, Sams, Target, and finally Grapevine Mills. We walked so much we were both exhausted and our legs ached. We went home around noon and the contractions completely stopped(they had been about 5-7 minutes apart). I got worried so we decided to go to the hospital to see what was wrong. I felt silly going in since I was no longer actually contracting, but I wanted to see what was going on. My dr. came in and checked me. I was dilated to 6 cm. He broke my water at 2 pm to get the contractions to start again. I started contracting again at 2:30 and delivered at 3:49. This may not seem like a long time, but it felt like an eternity due to my very bad decision to forgo having an epidural. I don't know what possessed me to have natural childbirth since I had never really even thought about it until that moment at the hospital. I guess I was hormonal and thinking it was my last chance to experience natural childbirth since she will definitely be our last baby. It was the worst decision I have ever made and I realized that when it was too late to get an epidural. It is a really bad feeling when you realize there is no turning back and you are going to have to just deal with the pain. I will say I pushed her out quickly(I wanted her out!) and once she was out the pain stopped. If I had it to do over again, I would get the epidural! Here are some pics of our angel.

40 weeks and still waiting!

This picture actually was taken on the day she was born. I wanted to get in one last belly shot before the belly was gone!
