Florida Trip

Over spring break we took a trip to Florida with 3 other families. We all stayed in a condo right on the beach. It was in Navarre Beach which is right by Destin. It was a fabulous trip and the kids all had a great time. There were 17 people staying in the condo(7 adults and 10 kids!), but amazingly it never felt crowded. The kids consisted of 8 boys and 2 little girls so it was a wild bunch. All the boys slept in a room that had several bunk beds so it was like a week long sleepover for them. The drive was not fun(as you can imagine), but we broke it up over 2 days. Even with breaking the trip up, we still were at the beach for a full 6 days so it was worth it. We stopped in New Orleans on the way down and went down to the French Quarter. That was interesting for me because I had never been there before. I would like to go back sometime without the kids though. New Orleans is not a real kid-friendly place! The beaches in Florida were amazing! The sand was so soft and white and the water was a deep blue. It was chilly while we were there(the highs were in the 60's) so I was not able to get in the water, but Colton and his friends swam quite a bit. I don't think the cold effects kids like it does adults. Mike even got in a few times. I thought he was crazy! Here are some pics from the trip. Most of the pictures are from the beach. The ones at the beginning are from the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. We stopped there on the way because my friend wanted to get a picture of her boys in their Alabama shirts by the LSU tiger. There are also some pictures from the Gulfarium in Destin(it's an aquarium) and a few from a crab restaurant in Pensacola. The pictures with the gators were taken at Fuddpuckers in Destin. The kids got to actually hold one of the small gators and have their picture taken. vrszVEyapuY/UVr92DuiwCI/AAAAAAAADNQ/jE4CH0Ma0tc/s1600/P1050511.JPG" imageanchor="1" >

Love the pictures. Looks like the kids as well as the adults had a good vacation in Florida even if it was not real warm. Bet the kids loved seeing all that water!!
Would love to go there myself. It's amazing that all of you were in the same condo and there were
no problems.

I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A WATER/BEACH LOVER! I'M SO ENVIOUS OF Y'ALL! I'D LIKE TO GO THERE TOO. I'LL HAVE TO SEE IF WE COULD GET YOUR PARENTS A PLAN A TRIP DOWN THERE. I'D LIKE TO STAY ON THAT SAME BEACH! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL - I LOVE THE WHITE SAND & THE BLUENESS OF THE OCEAN! LOOKS LIKE Y'ALL HAD AN INCREDIBLY WONDERFUL VACATION! VERY NICE CONDO TOO. IT'S SO COOL THAT ASHLYN HAD A LITTLE GIRL AROUND HER AGE TO PLAY WITH & THE BOYS ALL LOOK TO BE CLOSE IN AGE TOO! WOW! WHAT FUN FOR ALL.

Looks like all of you had a great time. Hated it was not warmer for you. However, just being in Florida at the beach is worth a little cool weather.
