Mike's Birthday

My dear, sweet, often under-appreciated husband celebrated his 34th birthday. We had family over and cooked out. Colton and I made a cake that didn't turn out very pretty, but tasted good. I wish I had gotten a better picture of it because it was really ugly! Here is a list of reasons why Mike is the best husband and father:

1. He is so handy. Anytime something breaks around the house he is almost always able to fix it.

2. When me and the kids go to Tennessee I always leave him a "to do" list of things I would like done around the house. It is usually a pretty long list. He always does everything on the list and makes sure the house is clean and we have groceries when I get back.

3. He watches the boys every Sunday so I can sleep all day after I work all night. A lot of times on Sunday he will fill up my gas tank and get my car washed so I don't have to do it.

4. He is a very hands on dad. He has never minded changing diapers and he often gives the boys their baths at night. He also gets down on the floor and plays with them. He can be super silly and can always make them laugh.

5. He is very easy going and does not get upset often. (Very good trait in our household)

6. He drives me to work when the roads are icy.

7. He always puts his family first. He would much rather spend time with us than go out with friends.

8. He works hard. He works in attics that are sometimes 140 degrees. He comes home and helps with dinner or helps clean up the kitchen. He helps get the kids ready for bed. After the kids go to bed he usually works in the garage or around the house.

9. He does his own laundry.

10. He always remembers my birthday and our anniversary. (I have been known to forget!)

11. He gives me backrubs even when his hands are tired from working all day.

12. My parents come and stay with us several times throughout the year for 10 days at a time and he never complains.(another reason it is good that he is so laid back!)

13. Throughout the years he has learned to tolerate Festivus(and I think he may even secretly enjoy it!)

The list could go on and on, but you get the point. We are soooo fortunate to have him and really do appreciate all he does. Happy birthday and we love you!

Mike's birthday present-a new weber gas grill! (We had to leave our old grill at the house when we sold it because Mike had done a outdoor kitchen and it was built-in :(

Traci - you really need to appreciate Mike and all he does for you and the kids. Just don't let him have a talk with your Dad about "marriage enrichment"!!
Things might change. Ha

He's great and so good for you.
He's a keeper as the fishermen say!
